There is nothing that erotic about the actual content, but there is definitely that kind of feel. I may read the sequels, tdrrible it will be a bit before I muster up the interest in doing so.

It’s a good dose of chick lit as well as a historical book. Nola Byrum I agree, there is an erotic vibe that I can’t really explain. But it sure was fun. Hardcoverpages. I guess I’m kind of a purist, but I can’t help feeling that if you want to write about this era, do it right.
I feel the pace is a bit rushed, as if the author cared more about the main idea of her story than the actual act of telling the story itself. Here’s a quickly compiled list of possible reasons: It’s a wonder we libbaa it at all.

Finally, the mythology in this book was original, rich, and layered. Instead, the main character is just as annoyingly angsty and self-conscious as all the other angsty teenagers in the book. On the one hand, Felicity and Pippa are mean to Ann, playing pranks, putting her down, and falsely accusing her of stealing. There are so many wonderful themes in this book! Gemma Doyle, the series’ protagonist, is forced to leave India after terribl death of bauty mother to attend a private boarding school in London.
The gypsies are awesome as well, we have crazy gypsies, fake fortune-telling I-speak-with-dead-people gypsies, sexy gypsies don’t believe the rumours, 19th century girls didn’t just lie back and think of England.
The visits to the fairy realm were really a delight to read – pure escapism for the characters as well as the reader. Author Libba Bray discusses the current status of the film on her webpage.
An unconventional book that entertains to the end and stays with you long after.
