Koichi Tohei (20 January – 19 May ) was a 10th Dan aikidoka and founder of the Ki Society and its style of aikido, officially Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido. Soshu Koichi Tohei Sensei

As with his judo studies, Tohei entered the training of the mind with fervor and soon excelled despite his serious health issues. Not only money was spent, but time was also invested.
Shortly thereafter he drew his last breath.

A Small Stuckness becomes a Huge Stuckness! This was to be a place for all students of Shinshin Toitsu Aikido from all over the world to come together and practice. In the beginning I had no idea what was going on. The Hawaii Aikikai was established eight months later, and I was also made an honorary lifetime captain in the local police force. This changed his view of Aikido and this became the basis of his toohei. That changed when Ueshiba entered the dojo and started to perform his techniques on the instructors.
