Ryan rated it it was amazing Mar 26, Hopping Freight Trains in North America gave me litt,ejohn the excitement and sucked-in-ed-ness I would normally only get from reading fiction or memoir, but also had my brain making connections and adding stuff to my knowledge bank of ideas and facts that I normally experience with good dduffy.
The book’s got some typos, weird alignments, and Duffy’s not the most spectacular writer, but a fun and informing read nonetheless.
The final challenge was that, once we got on a train, we then had to get off it too. Littlejohn covers every topic imaginable. If you have read this book before catching out, you should feel pretty confident about what you are doing.

Nice job Duffy and Thank you!!!!!! A good portion of the book is dedicated to safety and rightfully so. There is nothing like this online for researching train hopping. Some of the treight by trians info is off, or not complete. The book does not even mention trainhopping as frright option to be disdained and discarded, presumably because it was unthinkable, being an even more illicit and potentially physically dangerous activity than hitchhiking.
What other items do customers buy after viewing this item? This is an amusing and historical frsight on how to get where you want to go by somewhat “illegal” means. Want to Read saving…. Reading non-fiction is normally more for expanding my mind, challenging my opinions and adding to the body of information floating around in my head. Even if you never plan on being a hobo, fauxbo, or tramp anyone interested in railroads and hopping history will certainly enjoy this book.

While some of books in the bibliography are currently out of print, it is still a useful resource for people interesting in learning more background history about freight hopping.
