My favorite part of the book is the very end when Tolstoy expresses his take on Christianity. I think he saw the reaper approaching at age 71 and felt compelled to “save” all others he could in the time he had remaining. To ask other readers questions about Din Nedir?
Reflecting on my reading experiences, no matter how great the author, if she or he sets out to make a point or send a message, the point overshadows the story. The odd thing is that the tone of the book was never a delicate one, which makes it all the more tolsyoy that it was able to be so harshly marred by a brief deviation at the end.
He’d chased her until he’d managed to have sex with her then he’d left, giving her a hundred roubles for her favors. But with some fear but mostly excitement I must push forward. And it is wrong. This book is not yet featured hayyat Listopia.
Instead we have Nekhuldoff struggling to come to terms with his wealth and to deal with the people who think he is foolish for wanting to give it away.
