It’s always enjoyable when the protagonist has to find out the truth or overcome challenges but it was just ridiculous how little Alex has control of.
Don’t discount Death though There was no suspense or mystery whatsoever, I was just waiting and waiting for the main characters to work out what was staring them right in the face, but they never did, someone else had to point it out to them.
It’s just a run of the mill Ultimately, the long wait between books and the publishers lack of effort in reminding us about this book was the downfall.
Now for the good: Given the situation at hand, I don’t know how she can wrap up all the loose ends in the fifth book, that’s supposed to be the last, so I’m expecting the series to prolong. Kalayna draws her ideas from the world around her, her studies into ancient mythologies, and her obsession with classic folklore.

One that literally scares you to death, in some sense. Try the Kindle edition and experience these great reading features: New character, Briar Darque, is trouble with a capital T. I don’t think Falin is a bad guy but the fact that he is tied to the Winter Queen makes it impossible to trust any of his actions, something that is really proved to Alex in this book. Otherwise, I’m not sure if her sanity would be in one piece. It saves her, but also, bonusthey get to be together.

There is also the complication, of which she learns at this time, that she has been engaged since birth to a dude in the Shadow Court I love the mystery side to the Alex Craft Series, but I did feel like some huge key factors were missing.

Almost is the operative word, of course. There was a lot of detective work in this novel, and frankly, it was not my thing. The case she starts working comes up when people start using a drug called Glitter. I understand why Alex is finding it so hard to make a decision. I love Price and her writing when it comes to Alex and her universe.

Well, you’ve got the imaginative world-building, the diverse cast of characters of all ages and from all walks of life, the new spin on the Fae race, the interesting take on witch magic, including its harsh drawbacks, and all the inter-layered plains of existence and creatures that live in them. The Eternal Bloom is… …a fae bar built around an amaranthine tree. It’s the least she can do for the ones who bought and read her books, like us.
While I am not totally in love with this series, in terms of the overall actual story, I thought this was the most interesting.
Alex and her kalyna friend Rianna have finally opened their own PI firm called Tongues for the Dead but their first case is a lot more complicated than they had bargained for.
Death is a great character memort I find myself liking him more and more with each book. Searching for the source of this drug—and its purpose—lands Alex kalajna and center in the conflict brewing in Faerie and she must find answers before she’s dragged so deep she loses her freedom. Alex and Rianna have opened a PI agency, Tongues for the Dead, and their first case involves an apparent suicide. Course, he was pretty high up there, so I’m willing for Price to rethink that particular unattractive idiocy.
