On leaving academia he became a novelist, writing archaeological thrillers derived from his own background. I received my bachelor’s degree in history. I can only imagine the writing gets better, but I won’t be checking it out. His publications on ancient shipwreck sites have appeared in scientific journals, books and popular magazines. However, the core essence of fiction for me is to be mildly educated on a subject and supremely entertained by it. If you want to read about Atlantis, be prepared to wait, and wait.
