Hitler was to have a similar experience only a few years later – without ever learning his lesson from it. This could give the British and French an excuse for not fulfilling their treaty obligations to Poland [which they did not fulfill anyway]. Along the victoriew lines he never really provides an overview of the war in general that as commander that he really only had detailed knowledge of activities in his sphere.
