I highly recommend this as a companion to Saga literature, but I’m not sure how easy it would be to follow if you aren’t at least casually familiar with the Sagas already. I’ve done a fair bit of reading in the Icelandic Saga literature, and I was thrilled to get an in depth historical and cultural context for them.
